Lately there’s been a huge debate on certain revolvers and which ones are better. Personally, we believe the revolvers should be based off of how much recoil you can handle and how long the revolver will last you.

Below, we’ve listed the Top 10 handguns that we feel are perfect for any situation. If you’ve been looking for the Best .44 Magnum Revolvers, your search is over.

#1 Smith & Wesson 629

The 629 ranks supreme on ANY “Best .44 Magnum” list. In fact, this gun outranks other highly-respected revolvers from other categories too. This gun is as ancient as they come with no real safety measures built-in; it is the pioneer for .44 Magnum revolvers.

The Model 629 packs an amazing punch and is built to do anything you need it to do. It is interchangeable, with numerous variations; in fact, you might not even recognize it as a Model 629 if you aren’t careful. Whether you are an advanced shooter or a beginner, the Smith and Wesson Model 629 is definitely your best bet in most/all hunting situations.

#2 Desert Eagle

Now who hasn’t heard about the Desert Eagle? This weapon packs a mammoth punch and reigns supreme on ANY list for .44 Magnums. There’s a joke in the gun community about Desert Eagle Weapons … “you a Desert Eagle when you want to shoot the intruder in your neighbors home, who is hiding behind the refrigerator”.

The Desert Eagle is a very heavy gun, with a STRONG recoil. It comes with a 6’’ barrel and an already drilled in scope mount, making it very easy to modify. It has a lot of power and will obliterate anything in front of it. It has a unique look and style that has to be seen and held to appreciate. This is not for the faint of heart; you will need a lot of strength to use this gun properly.

#3 Smith & Wesson 69

The Model 69 from S&W is a beautiful gun that you have to experience firsthand. This 5-cylinder weapon is a unique, handcrafted weapon with lines that flow unlike any other weapon.

It’s equipped with an L-Frame and matched with a 4-inch barrel for maximum portability and effectiveness. It’s powerful with a lot of recoil so it’s not built for the beginner. However, you’ll probably fall in love with it’s look first and then it’s power.

#4 Taurus Tracker

The ribbed grip of this gun is just phenomenal. Dominating most of the online gun forums, the Taurus Tracker 44 is just about on everyone's wish list.

It’s extremely versatile and has everything you could ask for in a .44 Magnum revolver. It is easy to carry, easy to manage, with a 5-shot cylinder that never fails. It’s easy to see why gun enthusiasts all love the Tracker 44 from Taurus.

#5 Taurus M44 SS

The Taurus M44 SS is just as notable as a gun as it sounds. You can take it anywhere and it’ll always be ready to do its job.

Even with little notoriety, probably due to the lack of marketing and the resemblance to the S&W Model 629, you’ll find yourself using this often for your hunting and traveling trips. The grip is phenomenal, with an adjustable rear sight that makes it perfect for fine-tuning it to your preferences.

#6 Taurus Raging Bull

This gun is just as intense as it sounds. The Taurus Raging Bull was designed to viciously attack anything in front of it. Whether hunting or traveling, the Raging Bull will do some serious damage when needed.

It is an extremely heavy-duty gun with a sleek, easy to manage grip that will help reduce alot of that recoil you experience while using it. The Raging Bull has both a 6.5-inch and an 8 3/8-inch barrel making it perfect for any/all occasions. Plus, there are ports on each side that help in reducing the massive recoil that this gun has.

#7 Ruger Vaquero Birdshead

Next, the Vaquero Birdshead is a very lowkey kind of gun. In fact, it’s not easy to find the weapon anywhere. It snuck up on our list because of its unique look and feel that makes it more of a novelty since most other revolvers don’t look like it.

Again, this is a hard to find weapon that isn’t talked about a lot today. It has a 3.75-inch barrel with a uniquely engineered frame. Besides looks, it still functions well in day-to-day activities while being exceptionally portable. For someone looking for a non-traditional .44 Magnum revolver, this is what you were looking for.

#8 Magnum Research BFR Short Cylinder

Magnum Research did a great job when it comes to models like the Desert Eagle and doesn’t disappoint with the BFR Short Cylinder either. With a barrel length of only 5 inches, you’ll find this gun has a TON of recoil.

Nonetheless, this is a decent gun with a lot of power. Most of its reputation came from Youtube and it may be outclassed by certain revolvers now, but it still serves its purpose. Don’t overlook the BFR Short Cylinder if you want a smaller .44 Magnum Revolver with plenty of punch and accuracy.

#9 Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk

This is the type of gun you think of when you want an older-styled revolver that takes you back in time - western time. This gun will make you feel like an instant bad*** as there’s something about this model that makes you feel like an old-fashioned, gun-drawing, western hero.

It has the standard 7.5-inch barrel, making it great for accuracy while being just big enough to fit comfortably in most holster setups. It’s strong and sturdy, built to last, and able to destroy anything in front of it. If you want to feel like a cowboy, this is the weapon you have to have.

#10 Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan

And finally, the fan-favorite of gun forums for quite a while. The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan holds its ground in any and all talks about .44 Magnum revolvers.

This is a very compact gun with TONS of power. It’s easy to carry, and hide, without weighing too much and it’s perfect for those fast draw situations such as protection from individuals or animals. If you want a power-packed revolver without a huge footprint, the Super Redhawk Alaskan from Ruger is the perfect option.
